Has anyone else put ON weight since starting cycling ?

I came from a running background and never really change a thin, except using hydration tabs. I've put on a stone in 1 year. Since stopping the hydration tabs I've lost 4lb but my weight has been more consistent on the bike than running. I had been taking on a lot more fluids on the bike,probably over hydrating and retaining water. I hope anyway.

I started cycling in April, and have lost around a stone in total, but my legs are a good bit bigger than before too.

As some have said above, I eat whatever I want and drink that way too, but I am not ridiculous in portions. Basically I eat the right amount albeit not the right things still. Diet is as before though, so the stone loss includes adding muscle too. :smile:

Do you have trouble getting trousers to fit?
I can get waist size right but most of the time its the thigh/ ass area thats a bit tight , same goes for cycling shorts as i just got a new pair that according to the chart was up to 2 inches more than my waist and the thighs get a nice imprint of elastic.

Lol. Yup!

Was only saying to my Wife that the new Levi's that I bought before the Summer when I dropped a waste size no longer fit so well.

She said not to worry, I can go back to the old waste size until a lose again. I then had to explain that it was the thighs that were the problem

I have no self discipline so yes. Started at over 19 stone dropped to just under 15 and now through too many cake donuts chips and all manner of unhealthy snacks am back up to 16+ on the plus side for some reason I tend to cycle more and lost most sought from September to February according to my training logs for the last 4 years.

I've lost 2" off my waist and I would say my legs are skinnier than before I started riding.

2 lbs gained & my friend has put on half a stone. It just makes our appetites grow so strong!!
