When I first strated training seriously a few years ago, I put on a fair bit of weight. I put this down to two factors:

1 - massive overestimation of calories burned led me to eat to much to replenish this deficit;
2 - increase in the amount of muscle on my legs.

I soon realized the error of my ways and stopped the post-ride gorging. Since then, the weight came off and stayed off.

Muscle is more dense than fat. If you have increased the amount of muscle you have, then you will weigh more, although your body shape may not have changed much.

What's good stuff to eat when you feel massively hungry after a long ride but won't make you pile on the pounds?
