Got back about 2 o'Clock yesterday after a hard 66 miler, 33 miles of that into a head wind, couldn't eat much when I first got in, never can, but a few hours later I did full justice to the large roast dinner my good lady put in front of me, not only that but the kitchen was raided before I went to bed and I was Hungry when I got up this morning, a large bowl of porridge with crushed nuts and dried fruit soon sorted that out.

After cycling it often gives me a seemingly endless appetite, especially if ive been trying to watch the calories beforehand, never seem to feel full. Not so great for the diet!

Whilst I hate to be a miseryguts, I doubt that 30 miles burned that many calories...

i guess the answer to that is - do you know what speed he was travelling at, his weight and his power output - if not then i guess you don't really know what he burnt

Errrm, based on a previous post, I can find the OP's garmin connect data for the ride which will give me elevation profile, speed and route, amongst other things. This post here means I can make an estimate on height/weight.

As a result, I stand by my original statement, thanks.

You cant estimate weight from a.picture. Height yes.....but weight no chance.

Better thread title would have been hard work gone to waist...!

I am with SandwichMonster, Garmin is a massive over estimate on calories.
