Last year my Ma was in great danger (see above). She got through the Femur repair but about 2 weeks later had a heart attack. She got through that too. She's now 97 and chuntering on quite nicely. Tough old bird for sure.

Delivered a rose plant and chocolates to my mum earlier. My Dad commented it was his first mother's day without his mum - not bad for a man who is 79 in a few weeks!

Took a card and stuff round last night. First thing my mum said after looking at the card was "at least you found one with 'Mothering Sunday' on it!"
Despite the obvious dig about the lateness of my visit, unavoidable it's when I got back from a journey, I'm kind of glad she's like me. Mother's day is an Americanism, it's Mothering Sunday over here! Although she was once American too she doesn't like the American term for yesterday.
It's scary how we pick up things our parents do or think without realising it. I never knew before she deliberately sought out Mothering Sunday cards for her mum too! One year I had to go round a lot of places to find just one!

Well she made it to 100.5 years old but I no longer have a living mother. About 18 months ago it was during lockdown.Last year my Ma was in great danger (see above). She got through the Femur repair but about 2 weeks later had a heart attack. She got through that too. She's now 97 and chuntering on quite nicely. Tough old bird for sure.

went around to my "mum" aka step mum and barely registered i was there apart from the usual put downs of my family , sister turns up with her eldest and the sun shines out their proverbial .
