Unfortunately my 96 year old Ma fell yesterday and broke her hip. It's decision time at this very moment on her Op. Suddenly Mother's Day takes on a whole new aspect.
Aw, hope she recovers well.

My mum is in a home 30 miles away in St Annes near Blackpool. I've decided to go and see her today. I'm going by bike though, not by car. I'm setting off in about half an hour. It'll take me about 5 hours there and back, and with an hours visit in between i should be back around 4.30, all being well. She wont recognise me but it's something that has to be done. It's at times like this when i wish i had panniers. Ah well, sandwiches stuffed in back pockets and card down front of jersey, i should be ok.

I got there eventually. I stayed for an hour though it's difficult finding things to talk about with someone who thinks i'm her brother and her grandma and grandad are alive and living in the house next door to her.

I only just twigged the post was a year old too.
Hey ho.
You'd think with six of the blighters I'd have got atleast one card today, but no.
Middle daughter took me out to lunch on Friday as she's working all day, but the rest of the rabble are in my bad books.
Hope everyone's being spoiled that deserves to be.

I got a card from son number 1 for the first time since he left home (i expect his well brought up girlfriend reminded him) and a text with a vague promise of chocolate from son number 2.
We are not the sentimental sort of family!

That calls for serious strike action, my boys who are all grown adaults would hear about it loudly if they missed today.

We're not massively into mother's day to be fair, littlest has come back from the park with a box of maltesers - she will no doubt eat half of them.
And mr6 is cooking dinner .
