Putting a Giant connect stem and bars on my 5 on Monday . Well the LBS is and the stem was a freebie from them . My 5 is pimped with TCR advanced and Propel off casts . It has to be the most pimped Defy 5 going . The frame is good so why not ^_^
youre going to love riding that bike mate !

I don't know what any of that means! but would love to see some pics

after riding the defy yesterday (for the 1st time) I did feel that I was having to over reach! maybe I'm just not that clued up on set up yet.

Mines a 2013 model so it's defiantly time for a new one!
Just showed her a picture of a 2015 Defy Composite in black and said "if I bought this you wouldn't even notice as it's the same colour" ...... I got a slight smile from her..... I think the smile would soon disappear if I tried it ! My next bike may be carbon..... but its going to be long time coming......

Yes, I really can't justify another bike at the moment. My Defy is a cracking bike but I wish I'd pushed the boat out and gone for a carbon frame. It will have to wait a while though...

Let's be honest here.....buying all the top notch stuff is really only about bragging right in the cafe! I'm sure you won't goo any faster on something that alloy (my thoughts) it's the same with motorbikes ohlins this Brembo that carbon this and I turn up on my 16yr old vfr800 and smoke them everywhere but the straights! it's not the nail that's the problem! It's the hammer you hit it with lol

Oh I quite agree. Ive shown a few people up at sportives on their fancy carbon bikes. I know what you're saying about the motorbikes thing too. My old GSXR 750 SRAD used to give the newer bikes a run for their money at a fraction of the cost.

You're right a carbon wouldn't make me any faster and my Defy is 4 times more expensive then any bike I've previously owned and is a mighty fine bike! I I always wanted a Porsche if I came into some serious cash.... don't think I'd bother now though I'd buy a fantastic bike.....
