Hope you are ok.

Need some clarification as to what happened here - you say he's blaming you, but also that he drove off? When did you speak to him?

Agree'd with all of the above, sounds like hte driver had not completed his overtaking manouvre and has technically failed to stop.
report to the police m8 you're in the clear as far as i can see.

No technically about it. Failure to stop, failure to exchange details.

Did you get the reg? Was there CCTV in the area?

I'm guessing there was some shouting and gesturing going on. A driver can stay in their car, shout a lot, and then drive off.

I'd also say report it - if you have the reg so much the better. If someone drives like that once, it's likely they do it frequently, and a report can go on record and mount up as evidence another time, or might be enough to get them pulled by an ANPR camera - which might also flag up lack of insurance or all sorts.

Definately report it, even if you didn't get the reg still report it there might be CCTV there. It sounds like he done on purpose, he might do it again to someone else and they might not be so lucky.

It seems strange that he did not to get out to see if his car was damaged which suggests to me that he had something to hide. No insurance, no licence, etc. So write down as much as you can remember as soon as possible and then inform the Police. As for the bike it should be checked out before you ride it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He stayed in his car shouting at me and accusing me as he made a left turn 40 foot or something up the road. The car was a silver piccasso but that is all i know about it. My left knuckle was broke but will heal fine.

As for my bike just about 100 pounds worth of damage. My confidence has taken a knock though. What if i go out next time and something similar happens. I was really enjoying cycling up to this point.

Do you remember anything about the reg at all? Quite easy to find out what it's likely to be even from a partial match.

And report it to the police anyway. It's entirely possible this isn't the first time he's done this - if any other reports come in of a silver picasso doing something similar the police will have your report on record. And there may have been cctv in the area.

You won't just be doing this for yourself - the more he gets away with the more he'll pull stuff like this on other road users.
