A few members suggest that they are poor in the wet but in my experience I've never had any complaints. Great puncture protection, good rolling resistance and fantastic longevity (in excess of 8000 miles ime).
They are twice as much as the Vittorias though

I really enjoy the Continental Comfort Contact - I've ridden them in 42c and 32c flavours, on my Long Haul Trucker. They aren't heavily protected (breaker belt only) but roll nicely and are (were?) reasonably priced.

Not sure because there are pictures of grey, black and black/reflective on that listing for a black tyre

In the past I have ordered black tyres and received black with reflective sidewall but that was a different supplier and tyre brand. That is the tyre I am talking about though. Do you not fancy the lighter folding version? More expensive but these tyres are supposed to last a very long time so the additional cost would be spread out and the lighter weight is never unwelcome.

OK, it seems from reviews, that the Randonneurs can be quite hard to get onto the rims, how about the Duranos? I am generally mechanically inept and have ailing shoulders and elbows (and weak thumbs )

@Arjimlad @User33236 @I like Skol how do your grannies finding putting your recommended tyres on

And is there a difference between the wired and folding options for the Randonneur (the Durano doesn't seem to have a 32mm folding option)

I find them easy to put on, finishing at the valve. No need for levers to get them back on. Possibly helps that they have been on & off a few times (I switch back to CX tyres for winter muddy rides) but nothing remarkable about how they go on & off.

£25 for the 32mm though, that's 2x the cost of the Randonneur
I hadn't spotted that the £19.99 quoted price shot up to £24.99 when 32mm tyres were selected. I'm not sure that it's legal to up the price like that because 32mm are listed under the lower price. Oh well....

It does say 'from £19.99'

Still 40% off but more than I want to spend, The Durano is the front runner, because so much lighter than the Randonneur

Mrs SG can put Duranos on easily. Unfortunately both my grandmothers gasclong since departed so am unable to have them try.

Before IronMan last year she held an evening showing her friends how to do puncture repairs but I had to teach her first lol. Anyway I was a week out of plaster following a displaced distal radius fracture with intra- articular fracture and was still able to stick a Durano on easily. (The rims were Fulcrum Racing 7 for reverence)
