wasn't there so don't know if he was pissing about, but I cant see him deliberately dropping his bike, so i'm guessing lack of concentration

Pretty sure that barrier is haunted by a cyclist hating ghost, everytime a pass it on the pavement it springs up

Dont think that was intentional or done for a joke - barrier up and follows his mate through and not really paying attention / covering the brakes...only takes a second of inattention for something like this to happen.
