Wrong continent I believe and wrong survey but there you go thats the problem with so many surveys and so many survey interpreters

Are you making this up as you go along just to make an argument? I've just checked and its the right country and right survey and it was 111 sites.

Not surprised at all. Lukesdad had postulated a whole load of additional unreported accident occurred after helmet wearing went up. I was just setting out the only logical consequences of that postulate. Personally I think Lukesdad is grasping at straws without thinking them through properly first rather than there was any actual increase in accidents.

Oh Ive got a grasp of it allright. The picture is in complete I have an open mind on the whole subject. I just dont like people twisting things to suit their agenda.

Well you seem to be taking a remarkably fact free and unthought through approach to it if that's the case because all you've shown so far is your lack of knowledge not evidence of my having twisted things.

Its funny how the people who have taken over this thread are the ones shouting about having a choice. It was my choice to praise a product that I believed had worked well and also to praise what I thought was great customer care.

Well I can also see, now I've discovered that helmets are such a contentious issue, that perhaps in the emotion of the morning after a heavy fall it was remiss of me to encourage people to wear helmets to keep safe per see. I still stand by this view, but its completely detracted from the main point of the thread.

Isn't it sad that a simple note of praise to recommend a product degenerates into a lobby? These people cry "but I don't want it shoved down my throat". Well, you've just shoved your negative views on my note of thanks.

So if you don't mind, I will shortly be posting a new thread in accessories (where this thread belongs) praising the product. So if people have made a conscious choice of their own to buy a helmet they can read the review and make up their own mind.

Feel free to pontificate on the merits of helmets generally here...

Think you may need to go back a little further re australia and NZ

Why? We're talking about data from Ontario, Canada. It would be very strange indeed to plot head injuries in Ontario against helmet wearing in Australia and New Zealand and I'm not sure it would tell you anything useful but be my guest if you want to. The graph by the way comes out of a BMJ publication and a similar one including British Columbia data was published in Injury Prevention.

But perhaps you would like to explain the point you were trying to make.

on the whole many posts are good and bring something to the table, others jump in and make a mockery of it

Its quite simple. In threads there are somtimes several conversations going on at the same time. Now I know you are at the centre of your own little universe, but my comment was to 4F on another topic within the thread. You were the one that linked it to your Canadian line of enquiry, which as it so happens I commented on in another post.

You may apologise when you like.

...and do try to keep up in future. Try to avoid the red mist.

I will apologise as you are indeed correct.

As I've said to you many times before on here, it doesn't concern me one iota what you choose to wear on your head and I suspect it doesn't concern most others here either. But if you want to come here with a mixture of personal beliefs, anecdotes and hand waving and claim it is evidence that people should wear helmets then expect to be challenged. I have yet to see you put up one piece of hard evidence forward to support your claims.
