Getting stains out of merino sportwool

Has anyone worked out how to get banana stains out of a merino sportwool cycling jersey? It's all round the pocket where I have tucked a skin back in (rather than flinging onto the hedge).

If it were my jersey I would rub a few drops of a non-bio liquid detergent into the area, leave for a few moments and then swish around in clean water and leave to soak overnight.

If you don't have liquid then leave to soak in a mild solution made with non-bio powder. For me it's the non-bio that's important.

Thanks. Will give that a go, though tried something similar. Will try to remember to post before and after results...
