Getting rid of that plastic taste?

New bottles and hydration pouch always seem to give the water a horrible plastic taste. Anybody got any top tips for getting rid of it?

Fruit juice......and now someone will come along and say "your not suppose to put fruit juice in a hydration pouch" well I’ve been doing it for bl@@dy years without any effect

i wouldn't put a pouch in a dishwasher!!

Milton is baby safe disinfectant. so it's safe to use in water bottles and pouches to give very affective cleaning.
You can get it in your local supermarket and possibly pharmacy.

but i find the plastic taste in the cammelbaks go after a while. you could try filling it with water. leave it for a few hours, rinse and repeat.

Milton has a somewhat odd taste of it's own.
I often clean my bottles / hydration packs in it though. When I arrive back from a ride and they're covered in cow muck / whatever I like to know they're clean ready for the next ride.

I put my bottles in the dishwasher - but I still find on a hot day they leave a plastic taste in the water. I put very diluted juice in the bottle - usually about 10% grape junce which takes away the taste.

Just don't store water in them. The taste goes away eventually.

Mine don't have a plastic taste. They taste like watermelon flavour "Go" brand energy drink.

That stuff is persistent.
