I did 18 mls in 1 hour 13 mins 32 secs. today.
Rolling countryside with some stiff sharp climbs.(one @ 7.4%. 4@ 6.2%. the rest averaging around 3.4%.
Not super fast but my best time yet for this route.
A couple of weeks ago it took me 1 hour 43mins. So an improvement.
I'm quite pleased with the way things are going.
No wonder you are pleased. Half an hour off your previous time. That's a huge improvement....well done.

Hi Joe well done on that one ! looking like you should be back to your previous form in no time at all, I take it you and the vanquish are getting along together ?

I think it must vary from person to person. I seem to plateau out for a bit then take a jump forward.
This it pretty much what I mean, by the creeping up on you, you seem to gain nothing then all of a sudden you seem to be doing this better, but for no particular reason

Hi,
We're getting on very well together. At first I thought ," Carrera. Oh well I suppose it'll do for now".
But it seems I made a good choice. It'a fine bike and I don't foresee me wanting to replace it for quite a while.

Good to hear of your progress Joe. Where are these hills. I take it you aren't referring to the one just out of Much Hadham!

I know the one you mean. No not that one. The route is Roydon-Hunsdon-Widford-Wareside-Babs Green-Berwick Ford- Bakers End. And back. You're either climbing or descending. Very few flat bits.
Tractors have left a lot of mud on the road in places but I enjoy it out there. Nice and quiet.

Great progress Joe - I love hearing about other riders improvements, it gives me more encouragement.

I've only been out twice so far on my new steed but I've gone from 6 miles to 9 miles this week and felt great.

Planning on doing a 12 miler tomorrow evening - got a lovely route planned out, which, strangely enough, takes in a pub - how on earth did that happen???

For some reason, that frequently happens to me on my rides too ;)
