We used to do it a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it to be honest. Its a good excuse to visit and walk around new areas, IMHO

Right if I want to start from scratch how do I do it ?
Download c:geo onto your phone. I don't know if you can register and set up a Geocaching account from there (free) if not also download the Geocaching app.

Used to do it a bit when it first started - way back. Got rather put off due to the damage some people had done in searching for one cache and finding a packet of unmarked tablets in another one. My enthusiasm was extinguished. The children used to enjoy it.
I had not considered combining it with a bike ride but on the whole I would prefer to cycle to a pub than muck about searching for stuff.

I go to the https://www.geocaching.com/play/search do a search in my area copy the Lat/long into Google map to see where it is and then copy Lat/Long into my GPS.

We went for the first time yesterday (thanks to this thread!) and really enjoyed it.

I have it on my tablet next to me. It is on my phone too which is how I found out there are lots around me. However dumbo here cannot quite join the dots yet
