Garmin edge 800 maps

I guess you can just get a new memory card and download the free new map onto it and stick it in the device.
DTD: on the garmin 800 you can choose cycling/walking etc and if you make a course on the connect website it avoids mways etc.

Have a look at www.talkytoaster.com
The maps are free, some are routable too (uses open source mapping).
Perhaps more importantly it gives a good guide on how to install a map onto a Garmin device, and includes the folder structure required etc.

You can use the free maps that are open source, but there is a site, starts with GPS and the second bit is underground !
