One of the many problems with Garmin's over-enthusiastic product development is that if something is broke, it doesn't necessarily get fixed before they've jumped onto the next one. And the next one usually comes with a whole new set of bugs and issues. Having read multiple reviews of the 810, I'm inclined to agree with the likes of DC Rainmaker, that much of the new features haven't been properly implemented (phone links) and/or are based on the wrong technology (Bluetooth 2.1 not 4.0 or Smart). The 510 has GLONASS satellite support, the 810 doesn't....Perhaps they might fix these issues on the next top-of-the-line model. Having just suffered USB port failure on a second 705, I'd settle for them sorting out long-term reliability.....

Been using the 810 for a few weeks now and apart from OS mapping being crap for navigation and the iPhone app being slow to upload I've had no issues. Interface is a bit quirky but so are all Garmin UI's!!

Btw if you use Garmin HRM Cadence etc the BT version isn't an issue.

Yeah, my 18 month old Edge 800's USB port failed in June. The unit is still usable as a basic cycle computer but I can't upload data or download routes. I need to send it back for repair but I have a nagging feeling that it will happen again. Shame because, other than that, it's been a great gadget.

havent set up the Cadence, HRM or UK maps yet - but used it riding to work today - loving the different displays - knocks the socks off my Garmin 200. Hopefully set it up tonight then give it a good going over at the weekend!!!
