Is this thread an actual serious thread?

Considering the absurd nature of it, plus the OP's user name and his/her total of 5 posts I am starting to wonder!

If you check my registration date, this will explain the low number of my posts. Also to the last couple of replies:

It seems to me you were offended by my lack of knowledge in this field, a bit harsh requesting a ban dont you think? Also heres a part of the description of this forum "For beginners and experienced cyclists alike. No question too stupid!" Apparantly I am:sad:

Anyway cheers to those who posted advice, I really am considering a big upgrade in my bike sometime in the future (hence this topic) so it was very useful. Gotta admit I think that TT bike looks wicked but have never ridden one.

My apologies if you were/are actually serious, it was not just the low post count, but the combination of your choice of username, low post count (recent sign up date is more suspicious - people dont tend to sign up then wait a long time before trolling, they sign up and get to it right away) and the seemingly daft question that prompted my questioning.

TT bikes do look great yes, but unless you are riding time trials (and regularly) then it would be a poor investment in my investment as they are not the best thing to be zipping about in traffic on and you will look like a douche bag riding one at 20mph in baggy clothing even if your bike looks sweet.

A Carbon road bike should see an improvement over an Aluminium frame, apart from being lighter and arguably more comfrotable, the basic spec of a carbon bike is generally much higher with better spec'd components.

^^ Really? A £1k carbon bike vs a £1k alu bike is typically similar spec. Then there is the argument that a top spec alu frame might be lighter and stiffer than a low level carbon frame.
