Or from small acorns....perhaps.
I just completed a circuit of the peninsula where I live. It's 7 miles total distance.

It was my first attempt at a proper 'sustained' effort ride. I managed 9mph average with 18mph top speed.

There was one Hill where I stopped halfway for a breather for 1 minute, then I stood on the pedals to finish it. Next time I'm getting it!

How did I do?

I'm 'glowing'........ :becool:

Well done but tomorrow you might find your legs will not be as willing as your head, take it steady, a bit at a time, the speed and distance will happen naturally.

Good advice ta. Nice to have some external control to stop me over doing it. I'd take a long time to heal at my age.

Strangely, two weeks ago, being held back wouldn't have been a problem, getting it done was the difficult part.

As Snorri says, just enjoy being out - there's always something new or interesting to see. Last week I saw the amazing sight of around 200 whooper swans feeding in a nearby field. On Monday night I saw a heron and a barn owl.
