Does anyone have a gps files for tonight's route please?
Your route is this:
Follow the red blinkies to Hull. Stop. Eat.

Ok?

I'm crossing my fingers that this one's going to be a nice end to what has by all accounts been a fairly crap (pun intended) week. I'm bringing All The Layers, have had harsh words with my Stupid Digestive System and am generally hoping that the air temperature stays in the breathable range.

Will probably wuss out of the SMRbtY and catch a train though. In my defence, I've entered an Audax on Sunday morning...

Good, Kim will be there. I'll know someone.

Edit: I think this is the first CC post I have made from my phone, trundling as I am from Prittlewell to Lpoo St.

It can stop raining any time it likes.

There's a change to the route this year for a different half-way stop. For what it's worth this was the 2011/12 route though

thankyou - it's the same route as last year, save the stop is a couple of hundred yards beyond the pub. AH is a little taken aback by the alpine climbs, but I hope to convince her that this graphic representation does rather exaggerate the gradients.

On train. Nearly at Charing Cross. Have with me nine layers if needed and 12 "Surprise Rolls" as emergency food. Might be overkill but I am riding overnight back to London on my own. The surprise in the rolls is that they are all identical.
In other news I am about to pass my former place of employment. They might be able, even in the newsroom, to hear my insanely loud roar of delighted laughter as I pass....

I'm also on a train. It's a Voyager and it smells of poo. Will try and avoid finding out why...

The SmallestCub, clad in a PJs and shoes and a woolly hat and a gigantic scarf, sneaked out with me for a midnight adventure by the light of the moon. All the way to the end of our street. He's just dictated a not-ride report....

"We were midnight searchers for bikes. First we saw one bike. But it had no lights. That's not them! Then we saw another. But this one was on the path. That's not them! Then we saw three bikes, all on the road. Was that them? No! Their lights are rubbish! Then we saw Kim. Then we saw all the other cyclists cycling past. I couldn't count them all because they were too fast."

A ride of two halves, for me.
This was one of them:

The dark semi-circular bit at the top is because of the curvature of the earth.
What you are looking at is the edge of space, where the sky is black.
Or my glove, or something.
Now I must sleep, while someone else fixes my spaceship, so I can go home.
