Thank you all so much.
I've a very stiff back, which I assume will be worse by the morning, and a bruised bum. It was a bizarre rear end shunt.
I'll post some details in Commuting, because that's where it more rightfully belongs, as I need to record them somewhere while my recall is still functioning.

I'll be sure to look out for Caribou in future, Teef.

Do not touch suspicious objects
Also record them at Stop SMIDSY as they try to forward them to police.

Simon, just sent you an e-mail to bail on this one I'm going to aim for the Hampshire Bimble on Sunday instead...that rain would be too much for me right now....Al

If the weather turns out to be as bad as the telly hints, will the Rochester stop have tumble dryers available? :biggrin:
I love it!

I remember the time at Junction 31 when the women riders were drying off under the blowdryers in the loos. But, no, sorry. We'll all just have to huddle up in Andy's and steam gently. Davy will issue sachets of Lynx!

we're down to about 110.....

If the Friday Night Deluge should occur what do you recommend for such a long run given the temperature should be around 50F/10C:

* Shorts - not much to get wet, easier to dry?
* Tights with waterproofs

I am out. Not enough sleep and too much work, and I am more zombie than human. I'll be either asleep or blubbing from tiredness on Friday night. Plus, eugh, rain.

Charlie - everything crossed for a swift recovery for both you and your bike both!

Forecasts now mixed- Beeb says wet still, XCWeather and Metcheck pretty much dry but (favourably- though not for the ride back!) blowy. Met Office forecast "Becoming wet and windy during Friday, then cool and breezy with sunny intervals and a lot of blustery showers Saturday."

xcweather now showing three quarters of an inch of rain. I'm really glad I sent that e-mail out. We're down to about 103 now - if it drops to 60 I wouldn't be at all disappointed.
