Sadly, a nagging migraine headache has been troubling me since this morning so I will not be greeting you at Stock. I may emerge for breakfast on the sea front though. ETA please?

Our leader expressed an aspiration to arrive by 7:00AM somewhere in this topic. Of course, the rate of rain-induced incidents might frustrate that ambition, but with fewer cyclists and a relatively short and flat route, it ought to be feasible.

Hope you are right and you can all tell me that I missed an amazing ride but right now my waterproofs are sitting in one soggy puddle and I'm sitting in another feeling cold. Hot soggy puddle (aka bath) is running. I'm a wimp with cr*p waterproofs.

Just about to leave for the railway station and it's hammering it down in Maidenhead. The forecast is that the rain eases off after midnight. We can only hope. At least it isn't cold. As it is, I'm pondering packing the water wings.

Alas I have made the error of missing this one, because of a visit by Beloved Daughter. Shame. It is building to be a classic event.
(Although a Late Cancel is a crime of the first order in Our Leader's eyes, I did send a fiver to Dellzeqq to give to the Stock Catering Supremos, in lieu of the money I would have spent had I gone on the ride. It seems only reasonable that I should pay for the sarnies they got up at 3am to make for me.)
