What a pity, this is a really great ride. Yet another nudge to look at getting a small non-returnable deposit from people when they register, which would go to the halfway stop?

I'm happy to pay my 6 quid regardless, if it helps? No point propagating my awful luck to other people.

Me too. I don't mind bunging in a bit extra.

Tried to have a kip this artnoon but as soon as my head hit the pillow some pillock started braying nails in somewhere close. Can't stop people going about their lawful business in the daytime though so I think I'll just get ready and set off early.

Still part of the team !
I'm also happy to contribute extra.

In other news, my fark-wit neighbours have another leak and water is dripping through the ceiling and into my hall-way.
It's only the 3rd time since I've since here .......
I was trying to have a lie-down nap but the dripping of water disturbed my snooze.
Apologies if I'm even more dopy than usual tonight.

I don't have ****wit leaky neighbours as an excuse for being dopey....

Looking at @dellzeqq route for tonight - approaching the Humber Bridge it takes us onto the main dual carriageway then onto the Humber Bridge? Surely a left turn just before the final roundabout will take us to the bike path on-ramp where we can choose the west side to ride on (shaded) or the east side in the dawn sun?

Chat later.

Edit: Gravel Pit Road onto Far Ings Road - then we pass under the bridge with a choice of West or East side path.

well, the rash of cancellations have taken the ride down below the point at which it would be worth the Garthorpe folks turning out - we're down to 36. The club will make up the shortfall in cash, but this looks like the last of the York to Hull rides.......

Not good. Long term commitments elsewhere meant I couldn't do this one unfortunately.

It really is a lovely route, with the rapid exit from historic York into the countryside (so a lovely contrast from London), then the almost flat terrain, the magical section through Goole and the ships, and then the awe inspiring ride over the Humber bridge. I'd agree with the idea of a non refundable deposit going to the halfway stop.
