I use a syringe with my own patent oil/grease mix. Oil is often likely to go off for a jolly on it's own, and grease can make the pawls stick on some types, but a mix of the two is the bears porridge. It's what was recommended when Dave7 was a lad to lubricate Burman motorbike gearboxes.
