I've recently decided to do more shopping by bike - this has been prompted by local road closures which have turned any journey by car into a real hassle. Recent trips have resulted in various ways of carrying home the produce, resulting in boxes of coffee pod inside the front of my Winter top yesterday - something has to give and it will undoubtedly be the zips! Anyway, I've seen a pair of panniers on Temu for less than £6. Our Daughter has used Temu many times, and the results have been good with only a couple of 'fails'. The panniers are described as 'Oxford Cloth', whatever that is, but at that price I may well give it a punt. The RRP is £1222, so I'm expecting a super-bargain
Anyone else here with experience of bike accessories from Temu? Some of the mechanical parts (I wouldn't trust them) have amusing descriptions!

@Fastpedaller I do most of my shopping by bike, have done so for years.
I would not use any other panniers but Ortlieb.
I got a very spacious pair of Back Rollers second hand from Ebay a few years ago, £50 for the pair.
Sometimes I strap stuff directly to the rack.
I haven't bough anything from Temu yet, stuff I have been looking for can be had for the same price in Home Bargains or Amazon, maybe I haven't been looking hard enough lol.
Imo, an unknown make of panniers is a false economy, not a bargain.
Edit: unless you're a fair weather shopper.

I'll take on board the replies above - thanks for your input. The town is only 2.5 miles away -or 3 miles by road  I ride on the disused rail track (Weaver's way) as it's less mucky than the road. I'm only after a cheap, once a week use and the rucsac is a possibility (am I too old 66 for a rucksack )

This might be better in a 'Shopping by Bike' thread but as a tip take a travel scales with you when shopping, the type you might use to weigh a suitcase before travelling. I normally weigh a panier as I shop (I have both panniers in the trolley,a nd fill both equally), and once one of them hits around 10-12kg I stop. I also bought a trailer for the big shops or when I want to buy milk on offer (UHT for the win:okay:xx().

This was prompted after I unwittingley carried 35kgs by panniers, the rack is only rated for 25kg:eek:

These scales:

Planet X have got one of their sales on at the moment, one item that stood out for me is the Carnac Havra Winter Off Road Mountain Bike/Gravel Shoe of which there has been a bit of discussion about recently:

https://planetx.co.uk/products/carnac-winter-havra-off-road-mtb-shoe-black

I've got a pair and at at £59.99 + P&P would say they're a good purchase, I paid £99.99 and have not been disappointed so far.
Also available as a road shoe.

Wow that's good for winter boots!

If I brought a pair it would be the end of winter!🤣
