Bought a 30L backpack today from Clas Ohlsen for £9.99. I think it might be a clearance deal because they had a near identical bag for twice the price. I know a lot of cyclists don't like backpacks because of Sweaty Back Syndrome, but this has a mesh airflow thingy that's supposed to help, and I prefer the convenience of a backpack over panniers if you're just nipping out to the shops.

They also have a Shimano gear cable set (inner and outer, front and rear) for £5.50.

I know I havent been on for a while, but Ive just got my Aldi email through and they are running the alarm lock again.

I reviewed this last year when they were available. The lock is going strong and the batteries are still ok, however it isnt constantly in use.

I bought another for the shed which has been out in rain and frost etc, armed 24/7. This one no longer alarms but I believe its just the batteries - mechanically its still sound.

As I say in the review, I tend to use it through the disk brake as a "hidden deterrent" in conjunction with an Abus Granit Xplus Dlock and a Abus Centuro 810 cable lock.

Oh, and if you have any questions about it PM me rather than post - Im not very active on here lately.

I was looking to buy Way of the Roses: Sustrans' Cycle Route Map and it is much cheaper at Amazon ( £4.73 ) than direct fron Sustrans.

Probably won't help many but suited me.

Hi
Just been to my local Aldi store to pick up the alarm padlock (seems pretty robust and loud) as a lightish addition to my usual bike lock.

Also noticed in ski section 100% merino wool base layer t shirts for £13.99, so bought two. Seem Ok quality and lots cheaper than named equivalents tbh.
