Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
Any folks got views on the toolkit?
As @Scoosh said: the Bikemate toolkit is OK, but won't last forever. From memory: the tyre levers are made of cheese and the chain splitter is easy to misalign but fairly robust; the cone spanners are the two-size-each-end type which I find annoying and won't fit recessed nuts of the smaller size; the spoke key, puncture kit, flick-multi-tool, crank extractor are all fine; the shimano BB socket is better if you have a long M8(?) bolt to hold it in place with and a spanner to turn it - using the supplied hex key would be an achievement! The other things are unremarkable.

The kind of classic looking metal ones from Wilkinsons are also pretty good.
I had one come apart just from riding over rough roads with a bottle in it. They're not joined together well. Tenn plastics are a better cheap cage, else pay a bit more for a well-made metal one.

Those GB jerseys look nice.

Anyone know what the Aldi jersey sizing is like?

I usually find that XL cycling jerseys are tight on my Son's Action Man.

Just got back from my local Aldi. They seem to have a fair selection of everything.
However, the sizing of the men's jerseys is deffo on the large size.
I tried on a large jersey (as per the measurements on the pack) and it was too big, so had to drop down to a Medium.^_^

Got a pair of fingerless mitts too which look good value at £3.49, even if they only last the summer.

Was unusually quiet early doors, apart from a bloke stocking up on GT85.

Worth noting that they also had a couple of the CREE front lights left over from the last cycling promotion, reduced by a tenner to £29.99.

My wife picked up a couple of XL jerseys for me and I can't believe how big they are!

I find an Endura XXL fits me nicely, but the Aldi XL is probably a bit loose round the tummy. May have to try a Large.

That will be a first.

.

I too encountered someone doing this. Couldn't help noting that even taking into account the local weather he was buying rather a lot. Asked if he ran a car boot operation on the side and was met with a smirk. Passed on the unconvincing tool kit, got a pair of the glasses.

Regarding the fingerless mitts - they seem a bargain at £3.49, but i got caught in a spot of rain earlier today and they're not colourfast, so I now have blue stains all over my previous pristine white bar tape. :cursing:
Hopefully it will clean off.
Oh, and some of the stitching is coming apart already....

After a bit of use, glasses seem pretty damn good. Takes a bit of practice to change the lenses, especially since the instructions are terrible. At this price may pop back and get some more.
