Lol I know of a free cycle maintenance workshop in South London that's open to all genders if that's any better!
Will dig out details tonight
And there's tower hamlets wheelers excellent monthly workshop. Last time i was there, poor befuddled man that i am, they kindly highlighted a fault i hadn't spotted on my front mech, that i was then able to sort. It is a truly "inclusive" event and i can report that i wasn't asked to drop my pants

I got sunburnt at the weekend on (amongst other places) the back of my neck, so need to find a way of avoiding this, and my normal neck buff is far too warm to wear in the summer, so I popped into Millets and bought one of these:

http://www.millets.co.uk/mens/007083-peter-storm-plain-chute-black.html

A bargain at £6 - thin, but enough to protect my neck - the material can be moved around however you want it and it has the added benefit of being flexible enough to pull up over your mouth and nose when there are flies about (and stay there!), but is thin enough to allow normal breathing and doesn't fog your shades up. So all good. And they have a wide range of colours to suit pretty much all tastes.

But in store the young lady advised that if I bought anything else at all, I'd get the 'chute for half price and suggested I might be interested in some Kendal Mint Cake at a quid. So, I bought the chute and the mint cake for £4, rather than £6 for just the neck chute. :okay:

Jobsworth Asterion USB Rechargeable Front Light http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/LIJOMNSU/jobsworth-asterion-usb-rechargeable-front-light
Most of my cycling is on rural roads with one week in five I'm on the road at 5am and another at 6:30am, so quite dark for a fair bit (finally not now^_^). At the moment I use a mega lumen front light with external power source, but have it on a lower setting and that will probably last 3 hours (2 trips to work and 1 home). A self contained usb light would be easier to charge up, even if it needed to be done after each journey. These seem pretty cheap, but wouldn't be if they were not up to the job. Most of the route is on A class roads and the traffic is not hanging around (and usually not paying much attention at 5am!). I'd be glad to know if I'm better off saving my money and using what I already have.

I bought this light a few months back when the % off sale at Planet X was genuinely that and they didn't bump up the original prices to justify whatever % they are at now. They were also doing daily lightning deals and this came up at £9.99. For that price it is a no brainer.

It is almost an exact copy of the Moon Meteor 200. The mounts are interchangeable although less rattle with these. The toggle through is slightly different but to all intents this is just a rebadged Moon. This is quoted as 400 lumen but I can't tell if it's any brighter than the Moon 200. I have one on my fork aimed at the potholes and it does a very good job.

My main lights are Smart USB 500 and PDW Lars Rover 450 and can recommend both of them. I wouldn't pay £25 + postage for one of these

I have one and it's more than capable, easy to charge too.

For the price of nothing else, it will make an excellent backup light.
