So would 10kg for an 11 speed bike be ok? The number of gears per se isn't going to make a significant difference to the weight of a bike. A few tens of grams in the cassette and chain is neither here or there.

10kg for an 11 speed is more acceptable. I say this but my Hoy Shizuoka .001 weighs in at 10.3kg and that only has 8 gears.

Are you saying that in your view more gears = more weight? Surely the opposite is more likely to be true. An 8 speed bike will probably have lower-end and heavier components than an 11 speed? The bike in question is listed at £500 rrp. I very much doubt that that there are many sub 10kg bikes at this price level.
