Our local Aldi has quite a bit of cycling kit at reduced prices, I came away with a premium jersey for £7.49, only went in for some beer.

A real bargain of a bar bag

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...egoryId=165643&productId=842985&storeId=10001

From Halfords but don't let that put you off, its very robust and well built. I have one already, been in use for years and have ordered another at £7. They are deceptively spacious for their look & great for a commute/day bag, happily taking keys, wallet, phone, butty box, a days snacks. My Hudl tablet or a good size book fits, Theres 2 compartments so a small toolkit inc mini pump fits happily away from the rest. It's handbaggy shape means it off the bike it looks better carried than the usual boxy bar bag shape, has a shoulder strap and integrated zip over cover for the click mount bit.

Mrs ND got one of these for her hybrid and its spot on - well worth £7!

Our local Aldi are selling off the last of the cycling stock from the last offer - much of it at or around half the original price. The clothing is a bit pot luck on what sizes they have left, but I got a pair of bib shorts for under £7 and Mrs ND got a pair of casual cycling shorts for the same price.
They had lots of light sets and bike computers left at half price too.

Is this the high end scale for cables ?
I don't follow? They were recommended to me on CC when I was putting the genesis build together

Is this the high end scale for cables ?

At the risk of being corrected  my cable preference would be:

1/ slick stainless, PTFE coated
2/ slick stainless
3/ stainless
4/ galvanised

With the above applying to the inners and No. 1 being best. The outers will generally increase in quality accordingly.

I think it's fair to say the linked cables are very good and an excellent price (but I've not used them myself and sometimes personal preferences apply).

How does it fasten to the bike?

I appreciate the handiness of bar bags but have always been concerned about them interfering with cables etc. I ride flat bar bikes.

They've certainly made a difference on the canti brakes on my crosser. They're almost bearable now. Just be aware that the outers aren't as flexible as normal ones so don't measure them to your old outers, you may need more gentle curves to keep stop it from kinking.
