Word of support for the £7 DHB bib shorts from Wiggle. Tried them on my 22 mile round trip to work and they were spot on for that distance. May get the red ones too which I assume will make be go faster.

Thanks @Slioch I've always wanted coloured ones but couldn't justify spending £10 on about 6, and I've just found lots on Amazon where I'd never thought to look .... now do I stick with blue or there are so many options!!!

Just be careful, some have a thinner wall / larger internal diameter which means you easily crush the cable end when you crimp them. Only a problem if you ever need to remove and replace them though as they will probably be frayed. The ones I got like this didn't have a lip around the bottom.

I have a box of 500 I got off ebay for around £3 they are good quality and have the rim I gave half of them away to a friend of mine, I don't anticipate ever needing to buy anymore in my lifetime
