Do these lights come highly recommended?

The one I got about this time last year, saw me through last winter very well.

On my commute I ride a small amount of streetlit suburban roads with the majority of it being along unlit country lanes. I found it more than adequate using a low setting on lit streets, and one down from full blast on the unlit country lanes. The mount allows the light to swivel sideways a little - enough to angle the beam into the hedge if a car approaches, so as to avoid dazzling the driver.

USB charging was handy off my work PC as well. I needed to charge it about every 4 days in the darkest time of the year, with about 1hr15 mins use daily.

The one minor point is that the flashing setting is full blast and too bright, in my opinion.

I paid £20 for a 35 set, £3.50 for a 25 front and £10 for an R2 rear.
I managed to lose the rear(my fault) in my 35 set, and the 2 fronts have now quickly worn enough to unclip by themselves !

£20 for a set is high price but that wiggle price is worth going for. Just remember, after your 1st front unclip, if not broke in traffic etc find a way to secure it!

I paid the same price. Dunno how you managed to break the front mounts - but I couldn't recommend them as lights - unless you are travelling on lit paths / roads at low speeds.

The rear lights though are fantastic - I won't use anything else.

Mounts are universal.

TBH judging by the posts and comments on this thread I have no confidence that many people actually do any research or read any reviews - even though info is blatantly being told to them!!! LOL

Reading this thread you'd have thought Moon XP lights had never been heard of...... DOH!

That's a tad dogmatic isn't it? Rather reminded me of a recent read - long distance touring cyclists comes across a "fellow" cyclist who proceeds to slag of his gear as all wrong - seem to remember that he has fixed ideas about which tyre, which this, which that - all of course which he used/had been blessed with.

Always keen to learn about new stuff I checked out Mr Moon - appears to be USB rechargeable. I know they are trendy as hell and just so this minute but I personally don't like such things.

How funny, I was out at the weekend and after some older fellow took it upon himself to compliment my ancient steel frame he then proceeded to tell me I was wrong for having modern wheels and stem. When he found out I was singlespeed not fixed he pretty much turned away in disgust!

Just been into Costco Farnborough and they have De Rosa R848 Shimano bikes for £1199 inc vat. Only saw sizes 45 and 51, not sure if 2013 or 2014 bikes.
