Anyone ordered their Varium jacket from Mr Leckie?
Apparently there was some haggling over numbers/prices with the supplier. I think the outcome is that they've had to buy a large order, but the price should stay the same. They should be in sometime this week (this was from an email on Monday).

Not cycling related, but don't know too many cyclists who don't like chocolate (except me  because I'm allergic to dairy and the odd other vegan on this forum  )...
It is a today only offer with limited stock, Thortons Christmas Hamper at half price £30 instead of £60.
Don't think it was ever worth £60, but £30 is another matter... and if you add in another £5 of stuff you will get free delivery as well (instead of being charged £3.95).

I managed to get myself quite the haul from my local halfords. The guys in my local one are bike nuts and bend over backwards to give you a great deal.
I got myself:

Total cost would have been in the region of £285 but due to store reductions the cost was brought down to £94.47 and then I got the promotional 3 for 2 on the lights and clothes saving £18. They also took off my british cycling discount of £14 bringing the total cost in at £62.47 for everything.

I picked up that Sportful jacket after a recent recommendation on here - at first sight it seems somewhat plasticky - I wore it on a ride for the first time a few days ago and indeed it's not the most breathable thing ever - it was a bit drippy on the inside when I took it off - but basically it's very good, especially for the price - very good in a layering system.

I tried it in tonight as had all my work gear on in the shop so couldn't get a good fit. I got the medium and it is too small so going to take it back at the weekend and see what other stuff I can replace it with if they don't have a large in.

It's definitely a slim racing fit.

I ordered 2 and they would have been fine with me handing back the one that didn't fit.

In the end I kept both - large and extra large - to allow for extra pies

Zips seem good and I like the reflective stripes on the arms.

I'm not a slim racing fit - but the sportful reflexs fit OK (I just bought my normal cycling size which is a size up from my normal clothes), not very breathable but for the money an excellent buy - under £26 for both the jacket and gilet was a bargain of the year for me.

Not bargain exactly but Evans have some good discounts on Altura stuff - Altura have come on in leaps and bounds over the last years - now do some very nice stuff. I was in an Evans a few days ago and they were doing 3 for the price of 2 on Altura but can't see any mention of that online - maybe that offer has stopped.

Current offer seems to be best if you are a small woman - which I'm not unfortunately.
