£7.49 for a wireless computer seems good. Yes, it's basic, but he's 8.

I've been tempted to get one for my nephew for a while and that looks perfect, but im worried he'll be watching the speedo trying to break his top speed and not look where hes going, am I just being paranoid?

Yes, he will do that but that's part of life's learning curve, you can't protect kids form everything.

Alan...
I think its more a case that everytime i take him for a bike ride I'm reminded/lectured about all the possible dangers (eg. cars, darkness, ice, the river, the lake, strangers/weirdos  ), so im trying to show that its healthy and relatively safe as otherwise he'll be indoors staring at a screen 24/7. Thanks, ill order one.

Get one that records the max speed - when I'm nearing my top speed (downhill of course), I daren't look down to see what it actually is - I just look afterwards:whistle:

Could you do a comparison of the 501s to what you were using? Flex, ride quality, perceived weight... that sort of thing. Im sure a lot of people with CXP22 and OEM alexrims types of wheel will be interested.

Then drop down and gimme 50!
