Arrived yesterday. They look like a really substantial piece of kit, hopefully should keep the feeling in my feet for a bit longer

Very tempting as the months grow colder.. but I've already splurged on some Endura winter socks... do I really need them?! Suppose I never really notice my feet getting cold, it's more the wetness in rain that gets to me.

Must.. resist.. getting more kit..

I rode from work to the Lidl in Clapham to grab their partridge ( ooh, errr, get him ). I've never eaten partridge in my life but they have reindeer steaks, pheasant, venison and a whole load of other exotic fare on Christmas special offers.:hungry:
But I digress. I bought a pair of their £4.99 ski gloves as well and wore them on the way home. They are Thinsulate-lined and claim to be wind and water repellent. I can't vouch for the last two qualities but they were really, really warm. Worth a £5 punt I think.

Even on lit streets, they're very effective. If you have a spoke reflector per spoke, and are travelling at a reasonable speed, it looks like your whole wheel is lit up.

I saw a cyclist in front of me like this a few weeks ago and it took me a few seconds to realise that they were spoke reflectors, not some kind of lit up disc wheel!
Aldi are selling boxes of these, I can't remember how much (about a fiver for 30???) and they had loads left in ours when I was in yesterday. I might go back and get some

Are they any good? Is it worth me getting some. I noticed our store had a huge surplus.

Altura Night Vision Windproof Jacket , I bought one but sent it back as the fit is very tight. Pity as it is a very nice jacket and half price at £34.99.

Good spot. Just ordered one for winter commuting duties. I had one a few years ago, but didn't find the fit tight so perhaps they've changed the design a bit.

Cyclestore have had some good deals recently - I've never used them before, but that's now 2 orders in 2 weeks. It makes a pleasant change to spot things on offer that are still available in a range of sizes and not (like PBK and some other retailers) only available in XXXXS and XXXXL.

Picked up one of the yellow Abus U-mini locks in Decathlon today: €25 where I am but £20 in the UK. http://www.decathlon.co.uk/Buy/abus

It is Sold Secure Silver so is not this lock: http://www.zyro.co.uk/brand/ABUS/abus/AB4011309/u-mini-401-yellow.aspx but the model 40/130HB130

Still it looks a good price for a solid secondary lock

I bought an xl and thought that would be ok as my Night Vision Evo jacket is xl , but it was very tight fitting. Probably xxl would have been better . However , I have ordered a Madison Trail Softshell instead.
