I've bought a couple of bikes via Merlin, one of them a Felt road bike. The only thing needing doing was to turn the bars.

But it comes with 8-speed Claris. I can't see how it was £1179 originally.

I was VERY tempted by the deal they had on the Felt Tiagra bike back in March but bought a bargainous carbon Roubaix off here instead.

Why, what's wrong with it?

Nothing wrong with Felt Bikes, but they are not PDI’d so you need to ensure headset is correct with no play, gear high/lows are set correctly. In reality most are likely a case of unbox, handlebars on and wheels on.
