can't help but say that with their usual yorkshire canniness they've put quite a bit of stuff up to "full price" tho - so you can get 15 percent off roubaix padless bibs at £29.99 - only a matter of days ago I got them for £12.49.

(i stress that I like planetX, use them a lot)
PX can be a bit of a lottery, sometimes think you just need be in the right place at the right time.

i have found there clubman bibs a bit problematic. the pad stitching must not be finished off properly as it comes undone at the join in the stitching
I've been wearing the clubman and a couple of other types of bibs from PX for a few years now and not had any problems with stitching but two pairs have got a bit loose around the knees, however that may be down to my advancing age and gradual muscle loss rather than a problem with the shorts! Maybe a supplier change issue.
My fave early spring/autumn shorts are the 365 3/4 length bibs, looking forward to getting them out of the drawer soon ready for the upcoming spring days!

The ones I reffered to were the padless ones - maybe you should try those - use lycra shorts with reliable pads underneath. Have found the pads in the 3/4 bibs OK, but must admit I haven't given them extensive wear yet.

I like those as well*, though the gripper at the bottom of one of the legs on one I bought recently was a bit loose/mis-stitched though stitching not broken - get them out now - can be worn in colder weather with long socks - Lidl/Aldi long thermal socks/ski socks. I reckon with bit of mix and matching you can wear them through a very large part of the year.
I got three pairs for £50 not too long ago.
(call me sad but I keep records of the swing swing prices on PlanetX stuff I have my eyes on)

* edit - can I ask how long you have been using them - how they are standing up to wear? Over what distance you find the pad comfortable?

I've a pair of the 3/4s. Had them a few years now and they're still in great nick. Usual rides are 60-70 miles and they're fine for those distances for me.

I use to buy a lot of stuff from Planet X. I think they used to buy up overstocks and sell them at a heavy discount but I've checked the site a few times recently and prices have gone up hugely and the range of stock is less too. Ultimately it maybe more of a seller's market at the moment with no reason to heavily discount due to more limited stock and of course prices have risen. My last order was in 2020. I would definitely check a few competitors for pricing especially as postage is on top where as competitors are typically free over a certain amount.
