- must be joking! £19.99! rrp £66.62 ????? You can pick them up for around £4 online.

OK, consider me suitably admonished. But maybe the £4 ones are CWSTSOs!

I think the PBK chainwhip is clearly a mis-price. I bought an identical one from PBK for £3.97 in July 2009.

You certainly don't work in marketing dodgy.

You're right, and yes I do get the enticing effect of marking an item down from an already lofty price to a newer less lofty (but still overpriced) price point.

However, it's still a mis-price. I bet if you called PBK (if anyone could be bothered), they would put it right. That item has been on PBK for months for about a fiver. I got their mailshot just the other week when it was on offer at 4 or 5 quid in their clearance tools section.

My "smoke-damaged" Tenn bib shorts arrived this morning. No sign of smoke at all - I'm really glad nobody saw me having a good long sniff of some bib shorts

The "pro" shorts appear to be a big improvement on the regular ones I already have, with a much thicker pad (although I haven't tested them on the bike yet).

Now I'm off to see what's left on the site...

Anyone with already fairly 'pro' bibs got a pair and able to compare?

Or ... I could just order a pair anyway? ;)

Order mate, they're good quality for that price..
I received mine today (shorts and leggings). I could smell a little bit of smoke. Quick wash it'll be gone.

Material, finish etc all very good.. Padding is not very thick however compared to other cheap ones such as karrimor and btwin they are well better.

Just got an email from PBK, the price is correct
I am stunned that such a simple tool (it's a chainwhip for crying out loud) can cost £66.62 at full RRP! Even the Park Tool branded ones are cheaper than that! It's just a bit of steel and some old chain

I've just dug out the details of the one I bought from them 2 years ago

"PBK 9 & 10 Speed Chain Whip Qty: 1

Total £3.97 (GBP Sterling"

Obviously not as profitable for them.

If I want to wear a skinsuit, I want other people to know I'm wearing a skinsuit! I don't want something that's made to look like shorts and a jersey!

Come back with bright colours and animal prints and we'll talk.

I used to buy quite a lot from PBK - but no more. Beware their 'special offers' - in most cases they aren't very special, and this one is nonsensical. Their prices are no longer competitive IME.
