I hasten to add without CC, I wouldn’t have met @Dayvo, @Fab Foodie, @TheDoctor and @theclaud ...... imagine what I would have missed.
That reminds me, in real life I've met @classic33 and @Saluki , and @roadrash popped round to ours to pick up some handlebars that I was moving on.

I met someone else when I picked up an espresso machine they were selling, can't remember the name though, although come to think of it they might have been on Retrobike and not here.

***apologies to anyone else I might have met but not remembered***

Edit: straight after posting I remembered that I once picked up a frame from a guy near Oswestry to pass onto Gaz, the guy who lost all that weight, was he once around 33 stone?

Time for new avatar... my old CB200 from when I was 17- which took 2 years working weeknights and weekends in a restaurant kitchen [nobody died!]
Mine was a red one. Lovely little bike too.

There are always stories behind these forum things.
As you see many of us came here after debacles on other forums. July 2007 the C+ forum implosion led a huge number of us long-termers coming here brought a certain kinship. Then the yacf ACF smiley debacle. Then there's the fact that many of us know each other through The Fridays rides and others, The London Brompton Club, Audax UK, Vernon's pie rides, the CC Jersey (who has that?).
People have drifted in and out, some flounce, a few have died. Friends have been made, best-friends found, some met here got married and moved-on, others found new partners. @potsy is still here and nobody knows if he even has a bike ;-) Oh, and there's a lot of irreverence and good humour.
There is a huge amount of empathy and support for those in distress, some members have used others in their professional capacities offline. Some might have even eaten or used products that others have made or grown!
We often focus on the few negatives rather than the wonderful diversity and the good people here :-0

Yes, sounds almost as chummy, convoluted, and as full of sturm und drang as my favourite scything forum.

This is quite sweet >>- got married

Whereas my filthy mind naturally converts this >>> - have used others in their professional capacities into something other than that which was intended - perhaps ??

I've received a very nice hooter from one (now ex) member - (i hope it wasn't anything i said ) - and purchased a still very much in use 2nd hand ortlieb bar box from another.

Plus lots of people were (mostly) very helpful when i got myself in a bit of a flap about something when touring in Spain the year before last -

So yes - definitely more good than bad - and it's really useful and interesting (to me) to come across pov not always encountered in my daily life - Fantastico !!

And I hope i've been of help to some people - whilst not annoying others too* much

* Just precisely the correct amount

Been here since the Great Cycling+ Unpleasantness in 2007.
For my sins, I have indeed met @Rocky @Fab Foodie @Hill Wimp and waaay too many others to try and remember.
I've bought bikes, sold bikes, got some work, and done a lot of rides.
I've also got into a state of advanced cognitive disarray and overwhelming refreshment with @theclaud in Wales one evening
