  France player takes corner. No other France player touches the ball before a Croatia player sticks his hand out to stop the ball (direct from the corner) going past him. Definitely a penalty. I'm not sure what game the pundits were watching.

  Penalty all day long. He moved his hand towards the ball to snuff out any threat behind him. Shearer needs to be quiet as his opinion isn't worth the money our licence fee is paying him.

  His arm was in the process of coming down after he jumped and just happened to met the trajectory of the ball. On the face if it it might have looked like hand to ball but imo it was not deliberate. VAR has been a success for me but this has tarnished it.

  The BBC panel, particularly Shearer clearly seemed to want Croatia to win. It was a clear penalty for me as he moved his arm towards the ball.

I've seen every World Cup since 1966 and this has been by far the best. Normally they can be quite dull affairs with few stand out games, but this one excelled all the way through.

Yeah, you'll inevitably get some snoresome games, but in the main, they've been very watchable for one reason or another, right from the group stage. Usually it takes till the quarter finals for things to get interesting.

My stand-out games were Argentina v Croatia, Belgium v Japan, Brazil v Belgium and Colombia v England. Could've chosen more than those four.

The semis and final didn't disappoint either. As far as the final is concerned, I think this is the highest scoring game since 1986. The last two were decided by a single goal.
