That's not very nice

It's an encouragement to stick around and join us for a beer. Anyone wishing to take it too literally should probably not study the photographs of the "winners" slumped and drooling on the train...

I felt like a storm-chaser on the SE11 to SW17 commute home tonight -it well and truly pissed down. Hopefully, that's it for the next 12 hours!

Not entirely decided yet though.

That decision may get taken out of your hands, if history is anything to go by.

Oh yes. The Gatwick Surprise is always a pleasure, especially since the Cafe Nero option came on line giving an alternative to the Costa Bomba.

I wonder if everyone's favourite Customs Officer is working tonight.

Excellent - I'll bring my Nero loyalty card!

Look at the BBC predicated rain map. It all clears around midnight and the next load of rain arrives in Brighton in the afternoon.

The Met Office is (or at least was) predicting a dry night. I'll choose to ignore that dark cloud now covering Brum...

Have a great ride folks, am rather jealous.

Have you had problems at Gatwick before? As Biondino and I lunched there a couple of months ago by entering through the weird tower by the cycle path underneath the building, walked through the terminal and carried bikes up to Apostrophe with nary a glance from any of THE MAN's attendants. May be a little different at stupid o'clock though...
it's a long and silly story.........

Well here in SE London it is starting to look like a perfect night. Cloud cover is breaking to reveal a wonderfully coloured sky over Shooters Hill!!

Time to get ready and set off I feel.

A nice and unexpected meeting of the ways at HPC - am quite jealous now, but stella and pork scratchings are compensating well. Have a good spin....

Des, saw you at HPC, thought you were with us!

Perfect night for the ride - only wish I'd felt up to completing it.
Not feeling very well and being routed right past my house proved that tiny bit more temptation than I could bear.
Oh well, back home now with purring cat on my lap.
Looking forward to post-ride photos and tall tales in due course.
