The route to Newhaven isn't dramatically different from the more common Brighton route, excepting the last bit, since obviously you don't go over Ditchling on your way to Newhaven.

This is the route that was used last year, if I haven't posted it already (Previous use of this route does not imply Simon will use the same route, this year, yadda yadda).
that would be it, except that this year we'll be going through Cooksbridge in the manner of cowpokes celebrating payday.

It's a flatish ride - not as tough as Bognor. There are two hills of note, and they are both short - walkers if you wish them to be.

Thanks for the advance warning / description
Was beginning to think that being off my bike for the last month or so with a buggered back should make me re-think my participation. But now it's clear I just need to man up and have an extra pain-numbing pint on arrival.

I thought that this 'thread' had been quiet for too long!

Do you fancy heading to Paris but couldn't get a ferry ticket for your bike??

Well I may have the answer. Having now decided to take the Brompton and to get a Eurostar back on Sunday Night, I now have a Eurostar ticket for the 10.13am from Paris on Sunday morning for person and bike. Even the mighty Dellzegg will be sharing the train with you!

I hear you say that this doesn't help me with the ferry! I have a bicycle booking for the morning service and with a bit of clever jigging we can either swap tickets or I will push your bike on to the ferry. So all you need is a foot passenger ticket (looking online tonight only £20 and still available.)

All I need you to do if interested in joining the 'Super Seven' and their jaunt to Paris is let me know you are interested, book a foot passenger ticket and buy my eurostar ticket at cost price a mere £100

Be honest with yourself drinking in Brighton cannot compare with the delights of France and the Tour de France.

now this is the 'innest' of in jokes. The clue is that the The Mighty One will not be putting in an appearance. And there is a Brompton in each of the bags on the back!

Looking forward to the ride to Newhaven - how many are signed up?

Is there still a plan to ride to Brighton in the morning (I've taken Friday off).

Can I come on the ride to Newhaven?
I was thinking of going to France with you but need to be back to help at an Audax control early on Sunday morning. Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be done? All suggestions gratefully received.......
