I had booked the week off with a view to doing this one. As it happens, I'll be otherwise occupied on Friday night, but I still fancy the ride down to Newhaven.

But, but, but they were such happy people last year! The welcome we received and the smiley, pleasant service made the rest of the day seem such a let down afterwards.

Ah but the joy of the pub we went to (and possibly the only joy of it at that) was that we could wave at the ferry as it went past. I'm fairly sure Frank was at the front of the ferry wearing the buff purloined from TheClaud.

I think you only imagined that because his doing such a thing, in a taunting fashion, is the exact sort of thing a person could imagine him doing.

But I'm sure 'Teef provided photographic evidence that would stand up in court.

Am I missing something?
Was I too tosh'd on post breakfast G&Ts to notice that the bar staff in Newhaven were anything less that 100% amicable.
The whole world seemed happy to me that day.
And I loved everybody.
But that might just be in my head.

The people in the pub didn't seem too overjoyed to see us. To be fair, as we settled in they seemed to warm to us somewhat or that could just have been the beer making everyone seem friendlier.

PS There's a 'Sub Subway' (something like that) in Kentish Town Road...not far from where you'll surface (If you find your gig that is...) Maybe you have found a new haven of heavy metal.
