whats wrong with a new bike

I've always had drop bar bikes since I was maybe 14 or 15. Being used to them, I hate having to ride a flat bar bike as the position is all wrong for me, and if you have a headwind I find it miserable. I guess I'm on the bottom of drops about 70% of the time, but still value the choice of position if going any distance
My cycling has mostly been commuting (with laptop etc) with the occasional "going for a ride". My bikes are an off-road hybrid Thorn and a road oriented Condor fixie. Both have drop bars, mudguards, pannier rack and so on. My only flat bar bike is a Brompton, and as a kid my day a ghastly 3 speed Raleigh shopper
