Yes but this is on touring and adventure when did going down to the local shops become an adventure?

The last 'tour' of any distance I did carrying a tent, cooking stove, etc was twenty years ago. The one thing we didn't have was bikes. Just 17kg rucksacks - a couple of weeks in Corsica. In general terms I prefer a credit card to a tent.
Was that the GR20?
Some of it was. We stayed with friends on Cap Nez for a few days then walked the GR20 as far as Vizzavona.
My old friend ahead of me - a favourite photo of loads. We did the stretch from Calenzana to Vizzavona in 1989, the year after we were married. The first couple of days were pretty brutal but we felt almost super-human by the end. It's a very fond memory.
I used to cycle to another country for chips! Does that count?![]()
