Any idea on a ball park figure for a hand built made to measure Vic? Can easily chuck another grand on the budget, more if there's a decent finance option....
Erm you could look at their website...they do have a selection of built bikes in store, you'd need to see what if anything in your size etc

Spec looks good, unfortunately I think Eastway might be Wiggle only now, so no test rides or LBS after service. Worth googling to check there are no high street sellers though...other than Damian Harris in Wales

If new to road bikes, it's best not to buy on spec alone. I'd do your Evans thing, get some test rides, and see what sings to you

I've just bought a Specialized Roubaix 2016 Comp Disc its a lovely ride comfortable but responsive, carbon frame with Ultegra drivetrain and hydraulic disc brake. Great spec and bang on your budget.

@vickster Just to keep you in the loop it looks like I will be going for the specialized roubaix, you'll be pleased to know the model I want only comes in matt black carbon...

This will sit nicely alongside the Whyte Montpellier which is....Matt black carbon....

However the mountain bike is only mostly black....

I was in a similar position 18 months ago. I was coming off a Surly crosscheck and wanted something a little lighter.
I tried about 5 carbon bikes and ended up with a Van Nic titanium......awesome.
Missus has a Synapse carbon 105 and loves it.

I bought a Cannondale Synapse Carbon 105 a few weeks back.
I've got to say I'm very impressed.
It's so smooth and comfortable, it handles great. I can see me enjoying some long rides on it.
Best of all I got it for £1359 over £200
Off the asking price:-)
