Hi all

Just back from a lovely 26 mile ride, marred by a really poor driver, who tried to pass me much to closely, then realised there was a car coming the other way, so swerved left and knocked me off. I was clipped in so came down in a big heap and have a cut knee and a grazed shin.
Could have been much much worse. So glad I gloves and crash helmet on

Much respect to the Hanningfield Reservoir Visitor centre who patched me up.

A very sobering experience. I must admit I was bit wobbly on the way home - just overly cautious.

Be careful out there people.

Hope you aren't too bruised come the morning. Know exactly what you mean re. being overly cautious following the incident, been there myself, twice, lol. You will regain confidence quickly though.

Good to hear your fine, the shock should soon fade and you will be back to your normal self.
How is the bike, and what did the driver say for himself?

Another SMIDSY?

Hope you and the bike are OK - it will take a little more time for the mental healing.

I past an ambulance today at the bottom of a winding hill, and two bikes on the verge. I'm hoping it wasn't too bad a crash for him too.

Hope you are ok in the morning,Is there any damage to the bike?
You could do with reporting it to the police though. You were injured and other things could come to light in the next few days.Best to be safe.

Been out this afternoon and came home to all your responses. Made me feel a heap better reading them all!

Yes, the lady driver did stop and we exchanged a few words about how she could have killed me, was driving way to close and was too impetuous. She responded by stating she was disabled, but I pointed out that she should be able to control the car or not be on the road at all!!

The bike is fine. Miracle!

I have a weapy leg and a badly swollen upper arm from the wing mirror impact (it was a big 4x4)

I called the police this afternoon who invited me to complete an accident form. They wouldn't be interested in pressing charges, and frankly I'm not too bothered about that either. Hopefully the shock of knocking me off will be enough to slow her down a bit in future

Thanks all for the words of support. Great community spirit on here makes me feel so proud to be a part.

Now, where's that wine glass!?
