Remember the primary purpose of all UN conferences is to drive home, not only the paramount need for a follow up conference but also that you are an indispensably part of that event.
My other top tip is that you should be prepared for the inevitable motion that future events should move away from the 'opulent extravagance' of European or US venues and seek out somewhere more relevant to the majority of the world's people.
Be ready to heartily endorse this sentiment and so earn lots of UN brownie points. But don't worry, they never go anywhere nasty. Usually Bangkok ticks all the politically acceptable / centrally located / stable & safe enough type boxes.
