Here you go folks! after so much good advice here i opted for some MSK Sylvan road with new [old stock] clips with leather, lov'em already

its traditional to put a full twist in the strap where indicated so when you tighten them you don't move the location of the buckle relative to your foot.

That makes a lot of sense: I never heard about that trick in two decades of using straps.

Mind you, I never tightened them...
