Father Christmas. At what age "should" kids stop believing in him?

You should never ever tell them.
My brother and his wife, belonging to some religious lot, told their children of 8yrs old and 4 yrs old that it was a lie he doesn’t exist and your not getting any presents either.
Mother went ballistic when she was told by their kids which further upset our Mum.
My children quickly stepped in and secretly gave some of their presents to the poor kids.
These days they won’t have much to do with their parents, can’t blame them

I don't think I ever believed in Santa Claus but despite that still thought of Christmas a magical time with amazing atmosphere. It's a bit like if I go into Church which have an amazing ambience and atmosphere but have no believe in god at all. I still find religion interesting as a cultural thing. As you get older and realise your own mortality and being closer to death it would be nice to deny reality a bit and pretend when I die I'm going to a wonderful place but sadly not something I'm capable of. I'm just going to rot like everyone else. Sorry about that not very christmassy.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
The longer they believe the better in my opinion. Aged 8 or 9 the whole neighbourhood got together and chose that years Santa Clause. He would go round to all the houses on the street bringing small toys and talking to all of us. It was magical.

Vicar sobs as Hampshire pupils discuss the existence of God

Stupid the whole thing. Obviously children who are 10/11 will not believe in Santa. By 5ish most children know its their parents etc. Really the whole thing should be stopped because its just totally stupid.
Older kids at school tell the little ones anyway .Kids just carry on with the pretence because they want the gifts obviously.

One of the most satisfying things you could possibly do is creep into their bedrooms and leave the stocking on their beds. It’s a very satisfying feeling as the pair of you sneak back to bed. In the morning the joy of receiving Santas gifts is shown on their faces and they sit in bed with mum and dad and show their gifts.
We never told them but they knew don’t spoil the magic.
