What's the result of no preening at all?

I'm just intrigued by the idea that Simon has ever thought so deeply about men preening themselves that he's felt the need to wince. I'd never realised he was into that kind of imagining....

It is worth it. Prospective employers like someone who has made an effort. I have rejected candidates in the past who simply cannot be bothered to shave and have told them or their agency that was the case. Probably less of an issue in a non-office job though.
